Health Information Technology


The Health Information Technology (HIT) Task Force, which reported to the PMC’s Science and Public Policy Committees, provides knowledge and expertise on the issues and opportunities pertaining to HIT as a key enabler and potential accelerator of the successful adoption of personalized medicine.  The Task Force serves an an advisory resource for PMC and its committees.  In 2010, the Task Force provided input to the Brookings Institution and Darrell West, Director of the Center for Technology Innovation, in the development of his paper, Enabling Personalized Medicine through Health Information Technology, on the policy issues at the intersection of HIT and personalized medicine.  The Task Force also oversees HIT-related material published on PMC’s website, and in PMC’s other publications and communications vehicles, reviewing them for technical accuracy. The Task Force also helps PMC to promulgate information on the role of HIT in personalized medicine to policymakers, industry, and the public.
